The Horror! Hideous Doppelganger Roaming Streets of Orange County
Here’s some free advice for the guys in the John Lewis/Daly for Supervisor Shop. Next time you dredge up a goon to do your dirty work you might want to make sure he has no embarrassing body doubles with the same name wandering around Orange County.
Yesterday we reported how the Mauve County blog raked up some slob from Santa Ana named Thomas Anthony Gordon, who, out of the blue, attacked Fullerton’s Shawn Nelson for being a defense attorney, therefore “soft on crime,” and hence unfit to be a County Supervisor.
As we pointed out, this was a theme Daly’s campaign manager has been pushing on blogs using an alias.
But back to Gordon. Maybe TAG wasn’t the best choice of hit men on the subject of crime, softness-wise. You see poor Gordo shares the identical name of another Orange County resident.
According to the Orange County Superior Court records, one Thomas Anthony Gordon has been arrested twice in Orange County. He is listed as 6’4″ and 230lbs in 1996 and 240lbs in 2005.
Both of the misdemeanors were for Vehicle Code Section 14601.1 (a) driving on a suspended license. The “.1(a)” part means the license was originally suspended for some type of reckless driving resulting in injury to someone.
The 2005 case was reduced to a lesser offense of driving without a license. He also has some failure to pay issues with the court.
Imagine that: two Thomas Anthony Gordons in Orange County.
What’s that you say? It’s just the same guy?
Naw, couldn’t be. Nobody with that scofflaw’s record would start throwing around his own mud on somebody else would he? And there’s no way the upright Lewis team at Mauve County would let that sort of individual on their blog in the first place, now would they?
Of course we have to wonder about Thomas Anthony Gordon #2’s opinion of defense lawyers. Maybe he’ll stop by and tell us.

Tommy Boy thinks Shawn Nelson is soft on crime because as Shawn’s law partner Greg Rizio pointed out the law that Shawn’s website was referring to was one in which non-violent offenders such as those folks convicted of crimes such as “driving without a license, (VC 12500)” “driving on a suspended license, (VC 14601 et seq)” “Reckless driving (VC 23103),”.
If defending folks convicted of crimes such as these means that Shawn should not be elected to public office, shouldn’t folks arrested for these crimes be eliminated as well?
If nothing else this should make for some interesting mail come November. I hope more than ever that Tommy Boy is Sal’s opponent in the Ward 6 council race.
I take a lot of satisfaction seeing this blog post. As a fellow blogger, someone needs to hold this type of jerks feet to the fire!
He’s going in the wrong direction. A guy like that ought to keep a couple of defense attorneys close by.

It was far to articulate for Tommy Boy. Writing is not exactly one of his strong suits.

Does anyone who is sane need any more proof that “Red Political Whores For Hire County” don’t care about fiscal responsibility unless, of course, it means that those “They” get elected are responsible for giving them largess.

Interesting how our friends from the lib oc and red county are now attacking us here. Guess no one reads their blogs.
I overturned the stop sign ticket. A city tree was obscuring the stop sign.
As for the lib oc lawsuit, it has no merit and will be dismissed soon. They are too lame to take us on in the blogosphere and now are wasting our time in the courts.
This all stems from our attacks on Tom Daly, Beth Krom and Janet Nguyen. Best solution? Don’t support those candidates!

Still, going after a guy because his brother and wife had traffic tickets? That won’t even fly in Mauve land.
The point of this post is that this Gordon look-a-like was arrested for committing crimes which made it pretty unlucky that the real Gordon was attacking Shawn Nelson for being “soft on crime.” After all, we really don’t know for sure that it’s the same Gordon, now do we?
I have just searched our archives. Nobody on this blog has ever accused anybody of being “soft on crime” – even if you were so pin-headed to think that a traffic citation is a disqualification to opine on the subject.
P.S. Please notice that unlike Cunningham we don’t delete comments here. On his Purple County that comment #9 never would have been posted in the first place. We give latitude to everybody here – even losers like Chris Jones and Cunningham posting under many different names.

If it’s not too much trouble, could we all agree (sane and insane alike) that infractions are not character assassination material? Whats next, Jerbal got a D in chemistry his junior year in high school?
Stick to the real issues folks. There is enough real meat on the bone of the legit stuff. We dont need to spend time on traffic tickets.
