Today I got an e-mail from Hide And Seek Harry Sidhu “unveiling” a completely empty “economic plan” meant to suggest that Sidhu can grasp anything more complicated than a flame-broiled chicken. Here it is, hollow as a rotten log and undoubtedly crafted by a member of the team that at least has a grasp of the English language:

No Pensions for County Politicians—Oppose government pensions for county politicians. Harry has signed a binding pledge NOT to accept a pension as our County Supervisor.

Eliminate Wasteful Spending—Cut excessive salaries, travel and perks for county administrators. Require performance audits for all county agencies to identify budget savings.

As you can see, not a single specific item on the list. Just warmed-over campaign hash coughed up by his new campaign gouger, a John Lewis operative named Chris Jones.
When Hairball is done “supporting” a capital gains tax reduction (!) I’ve got to wonder how many jobs he will have created.
If you’ve ever seen a car wreck you know they always seem to appear to occur in slow motion. That’s Sidhu’s Crew to a T.
There appears to be some good ideas there. Sidhu has certainly helped business in Anaheim, lowered fees and permit costs. Looking at County perks and rejecting County lucrative pensions is more than Nelson has done (despite his campaign promises).
He has a proven track record in Anaheim working with small business and SOAR. On the other hand, what has Nelson done? Lie to us about the County pension — he took the top option which he claimed he would fight! Yes, eliminate it for the hard working County employees but keep it for himself! Sidhu will try to eliminate all pensions for politicians. Get a lucrative pension for working part-time for 4 yrs?????

Arnold I used to think you were a little slow. Now ignorant and slow. The Supervisor job is full time. And NOBODY gets vested until FIVE years (then you have to be 70).

Sidhu’s proven track record and support for jobs sure rings hollow when you look at the hundreds of companites that were kicked out of the platinum triangle on purpose by Harry and his pals on the Anaheim City Council. Is there any place in Southern California that more jobs were removed from a city by design?

Is Harry running for Senate or Supervisor? For some reason I could swear that capital gains taxes were an IRS issue.
Earth to Harry: the county of orange does not require business licenses. The county doesn’t have any fees excessive, low or in between.
Opposes government bailouts eh? That will come in real handy during all those county votes for bailing out corporate America.

Actually, the county does have fees. Businesses pay an annual tax on assets. It is a complete racket where the county decides on a whim if your stated assets match what it thinks you SHOULD have as assets. If you are a small business you can fight or pay the the $500ish. $500ish is lower than attorney’s fees or billable time X hours spent fighting.

WHAT?! Am I mis-interpreting? Is Sidhu wanting to increase the no. of Co. employees and add to the ever accruing pension deficit?!
Logical to assume, no matter how much an employee pays towards their retirement, there is always a portion of each employee’s retirement benefits that the Co. must pay.
Instead of going in the opposite direction, after Co. shed most of its unincorporated territory post-BK., I believe the number of Co. employees has grown from around 15,000 pre-BK to about 18,000 today…
How about pledging to reduce no. of Co. employees by privatizing and contracting out as much as legally feasible? This could help our local businesses and most likely result in cost savings and efficiencies.

If “Freedom Friendly” government worked, Anaheim’s unemployment rate would be better than surrounding communities. Not only is our unemployment the same, the Free-For-All environment of abandoning any sort of standard for developers nad businesses has turned Anaheim into a cesspool of abandoned shopping carts, overparked neighborhoods, and grafitti. Harry and his buddies have failed Anaheim miserably, do not allow this cancer to spread to the rest of the 4th District.
