Register Finally Gets on With Board Fullerton Water Rip-off

File under better late than never. Teri Sforza of the Register has advertised Fullerton city government’s dirty little secret. Well, I guess it was really a big secret. Not any more.

A little MSM attention will help get the word out: F. Richard Jones and Don Bankhead have been ripping us off for 15 year by adding 10% to our water bills to pay for their perks and pensions. A $27,000,000 rip-off. Now that’s not very nice, is it?

  1. The Rag-ister is losing credibilty and this time of year mostly serves to light fireplaces and line litter boxes. It is an attempt at regaining trust. They have a long way to go. We will help them get there. Thanks FFFF

        1. Good luck with that, SSSSSSlithering SSSSSSSilva is too busy kissing babies and playing CYA-snake-in-the-grass, IMO you will get no truthful explanation from her. Pay no attention to the skirt behind the curtain…….

SQS doesn’t care about the citizens of Fullerton any more than those other dolts of Fullerton, she only cares about her own political ladder climbing.

      1. Quirk is a liberal democrat. Raising taxes is what she does. At least she’s honest about it.

The Bankhead and Jones have been falsifying their conservative cred for decades.

  2. A skeptic might think that after 15 years, maybe it isn’t illegal. That’s a long time to ‘get away with it’ without a court challenge.

  3. Once again, I will ask. Does anyone know the status of the letter sent by the Howard Jarvis Tax folks to the city in which legal action was discussed if the issue was not addressed? I believe the letter requested a response by early December. Update anyone?

  4. Response in early December: “We are considering all of our options at this time. Nothing is on or off the table. In fact, its safe to say that its all under the table for now.”

Response as of last night: “We are looking at where the illegal tax money is going and will justify it when we come up with a plan.”

Response in February: “We are committed to serving Fullerton the best way we can- by taking 10% at a time.”

Response in March: “We understand the public’s concern. They need not worry because we are trained experts.”

Response in April: “We continue to seek a resolution.”

Response in May: “The mandatory Prop 218 notices have been sent out and this time we did it legally.”

Response in June: “We feel it is in the best interest of the City to raise water rates 8.5% each year for the next 5 years and then 5% each year until we decide to raise it more. This doesn’t include any “pass-through” fees from MWD or OCWD.”

Response in July: “Thanks. Life is good and are pensions are great!”

  5. I wanted to thank everyone who spent a little time in the library last night- listening to the water issues. Im very impressed with the citizens who take their time to investigate these issues- you guys were well read and knowledgeable….much more so that what the city had to offer…the standard Felz response- we are hiring another committee to do a study- you guys have had this info since July of last year- your gonna do nothing unless we make you. again thanks for all your hard work- it is recognized. thanks!

    1. Did you also notice that Pat McKinley was like silent all night just sitting there with his head glowing like Rudolph’s nose?

Someone should really tell that guy to lay off the tanning booths for awhile.

People with narcisstic tendencies should NOT be in a leadership position, as they are too engrossed with themselves to be minding anyone else.

      1. He is silent because he is incompetent. He didn’t even know how to run the meeting, as he should have been doing in the mayor’s absence. Felz had to show him how to adjourn the meeting at the end.

  6. My favorite part of last night:
A gentleman got up and asked questions, then said wouldnt it be nice if we had onthe city council a water rep that could defend us- Greg sebourn said…Well I think Mr Bankhead is a member why not direct your question at him…and bankhead—crickets he didnt even pretend to hear it- ignoring us isnt gonna make us go away. ANd the two very obvious ladies defending these douche’s = you heard me- get your checkbooks out and write a big check- you caused this- you fix it- write him a check and you all go away- capishe?

    1. This was gist of what one of our residents was saying during the public comments last night, is that 70% of the people that work for the water districts makes over $100K a year, so we’re all suffering from reverse osmosis of the trickle down effect of Economics, in that the administrative costs of the water is what’s keeping the prices inflated that they charge residents for the actual water we need to survive.

I saw that too last night, and wondered to myself if Don was playing possum, as they too will freeze up when threatened or harmed.
This physiological response is involuntary (like fainting), rather than a conscious act, so we really can’t fault Don’s tendency to freeze up when confronted with a serious question or debacle.

    1. FL+ I thought it interesting that we got a pat n the back for conserving water- we are using less than ever= so we use less,we have to pay more? shaking my head…isnt enough.
Here these citizens have volunteered a ton of time to this mis-use-illegal tax- and they showed up with attorney=that said things in circles she herself made Jonsey Jr ,city lawyer grab the mic and spew more bs…it was sad,sad day when we as citizens allow that type of hoodwinkery to continue and NOT force them to be accountable..really what are we doing here? RECALL for sure, but I think people are owed a refund.

  8. That’s exactly why the recall, Bankhead isnt playing possum, he’s just incompetent and doesn’t care, and he thought that this gig would be a cake walk for him until he retires.

    Keep pushing Fullerton citizens

  9. I don’t think he’s “playing” possum Merijoe, I’ve had conversations with Don before and he really is “thick as a brick”.
I also noticed that this horse’s arse erected a sign in front of his house on Val-Mesa, saying, “Stop the Recall! Fullerton is not for sale!

After reading through Don’s campaign contribution forms on the city of Fullerton web site, I’d have to say that if this sign isn’t the heighth of hypocrisy, I really don’t know what is.

RECALL RECALL RECALL RECALL RECALL RECALL

    1. FL-Well hes not playing possum, He IS a possum-I saw one on my porch the other night, fat, ugly and bald and stop whatever they are doing, freeze while giving you the scared/innocent look.

Dumb as a brick isnt something that should be voting on policies for a city and he has friends sitting next to him that are the same.

  10. Citizen M :
i swear I will give a dollar to anyone who willput a recall sign next door to bankys. ONE DOLLARINO…

…save your money. I’ll do it for free.

    1. Thanks Citizen M, holy crap

Question, at 1:41 was that a groan I heard from someone in the peanut gallery when Felz mentioned RDA needs to dissolve by 1/13 or was it the wind rustling in the trees.

No, someone didn’t tell Chris, while he was trying to discuss the illegal water tax, to hold his political comments and it wasn’t fair. @1:43:58

Then Blankhead with his flat affect (no facial emotions) and McKinley with his ears that could possibly be handles, at the closing, mumbled about some eye glazing pooh that did make a differerence and didnt mention the 10% illegal tax or when a audit is suppose to take place.
I thought Bankhead was supposed to be a committee member of the Metropol. OC water district per that all volunteer Adhoc committee.

The figures dont even match with what the City provided, per that one citizen who did a report-WTF?

  11. This blog and the Register have a relationship that is beyond belief. On one hand, this blog excoriates them while on the other hand, the Register gives it free advertising! Keep it up, FFFF!
