Oh, No! Not Again!

Yes, it would appear so. CNN is reporting today yet another instance of wrongful arrest and brutality by our friends at the FPD. The case involves assault and phony DUI arrest for which there was no basis.

Of course the purported victim, Edward Miguel Quinonez, has a lawyer: Garo Mardirossian. Geez, Garo may as well open up a Fullerton office. Here is KCAL passing along the news:

UPDATE: FYI, KCAL WE INTERVIEWED THIS WITNESS AND POSTED IT ON AUGUST 8 – 5 WEEKS AGO! HERE’S THE LINK.

223 Replies to “Oh, No! Not Again!”

    1. I’m wondering who is the most dangerous, one-eye, or Hampton? Clearly FPD’s problems don’t all boil down to only one bad egg.

Another nagging question. The FPD stooges here love to say six officers didn’t kill Kelly, only two did!

Then why are SIX on paid admin leave?

      This picture don’t sit straight.

      1. IF QUINONES FILED A CITIZEN COMPLAINT LAST YEAR, WHAT WAS THE DISPOSITION OF IT, WHO INVESTIGATED IT AND WHAT WAS INVESTIGATED?

WHAT HAPPENED TO IT? AT LEAST IT HAD A COMPLAINT INTAKE NUMBER ON IT!

    2. I heard yesterday that Hampton is still working and bitching about being on desk detail.
Why is he even allowed to show up to work? There are multiple assault cases against him and a murder. And he is still at work? WHAT ARE YOU DOING FPD??? FIGURE IT OUT. DO THE RIGHT THING AND PUNISH THOSE THAT DESERVE IT. AND REWARD THOSE THAT WORK HARD AND ARE GOOD COPS. YOU CANT JUST PROTECT EVERYONE. COPS WITH SEXUAL ASSAULTS, VIOLENCE, MURDER. I’M SURE FPD HAS A LOT OF GOOD COPS. ALL WE WANT ARE THE BAD ONES TO STEP DOWN AND PAY FOR THEIR ACTIONS.

      1. WHY IS HAMPTON WORKING THE DESK? SO HE CAN KISS OFF CALLS FOR SERVICE AND THE NIGHTMARE OF COPS…CIVILIAN COMPLAINTS?

    1. LOL You can tell how much the OCR loves Mardirossian.

Wonder how many shots their phog had to burn to get one making Ol’ Garo look bad. ALL professional photographers know one of the worst pics you can get of a subject is with their mouth open.

      Pathetic OCR, pathetic. LOL

        1. When I first came to O.C. 25 years ago, the Hoyle family owned the Register. It was put up for sale for a billion dollars. Now, I understand the finances are at breakeven. One reason? Why read the same old support of police and the DA in the editorial pages. Always the same, never a change.
So readership is down, of course.

          1. IT’S THE SAME WAY WITH WHAT USED TO BE MAJOR NEWSPAPERS IN THIS COUNTRY. THE ONLY ONE DOING WELL IS THE WALL STREET JOURNAL!

    1. You would think that other arrest would be questioned. I think there needs to be a check into there Public intoxication arrests. The fact that an officer can arrest you for public intox, based on his/her observation, especially when you question an officer’s behavior. There is no PAS or blood or breath tests..Just saying!

      1. Yes, I would agree with both of you, but its not just Hampton. When there is a clear record of false arrests – Veth Mam,Edward Miguel Quinonez, Emmanuel Martinez – that raises suspicion about ALL such arrests made by ALL FPD officers.

        Re-open them all!

          1. it’s worse than rampart, rampart was just a few guys, with fullerton it appears the whole station is involved in corruption.

    2. So the code of silence can work against a cop who is clean. His conduct is always being scrutinized in this age of cameras, videos, etc.

      1. Fedupwithmorons,
Please pass the word around at the protest tomorrrow that approximately 40-50 officers of the Fullerton Police department have been observedin their parking lot practicing with their billy clubs and riot gear on at least twice in the past three days. This is absolutely not a lie. Please help keep the protesters calm if the officers try and provoke a fight or reaction as they did last week when they began citing supporters for simply honking.

  1. Good point jt, I wonder how many more are sitting in some facility because of these people and there phony reports. Do ant of these officers have any integrity at all?

    1. Wow, you’re right:

First 4 items on the closed door agenda – 4 cases of “anticipated litigation.”

Then an existing litigation case, which is the litigation by two women againt Officer Rincon in the sexual abuse case.

      Then some redevelopment stuff.

      Then the Veth Mam case!

      Then another anticipated litigation case.

Then a meeting with the labor negotiatior about the Police and Fire Unions on “Parameters of authority for negotiating salaries, benefits and working conditions.”

You can’t make stuff like this up.

      1. Then a meeting with the labor negotiatior about the Police and Fire Unions on “Parameters of authority for negotiating salaries, benefits and working conditions.”

THIS is what I’m interested in. This should be recorded and put on Youtube.

  2. NICE POLICE FORCE AND CHAIN OF COMMAND

    CHAIN OF COMMAND

    CHAIN OF COMMAND

I am sure this msg will fill with cop apologists and citizen haters soon

  3. Wow. The floodgates have opened. It’s looking more and more like the FPD may provide the tipping point toward the kind of police reform so badly needed in many parts of OC and beyond. If so, Kelly Thomas brutal beating and death will not have been in vain.

      1. Laughing not required, while tongue in cheek (Fullerton, California is becoming anonymous with police brutality), it was not an actual JOKE.

Left noted for you in both threads.

We Get Mail, and Reading Tea leaves.

        1. Sorry, I don’t really get much humor out of anything connected to the murder of Kelly Thomas. Oh and I posted what I would consider thoughful replies to both your notes hours ago. Since you are making this so personal, please feel free to continue our dialog (if you wish) at my handle at gmail.com.

    1. EYE, KELLY’S LIFE AND DEATH WILL NEVER BE IN VAIN AS EVIDENCED BY THE ONGOING PROTESTS AND FUNDRAISING FOR THE HOMELESS, HIS LIFE HAS PURPOSE!!!!!

      1. You are correct, gal. While Kelly’s life was full of pain and disappointment and his death was inhumanly brutal, unnecessary, uncalled for, and completely unjustified and unjustifiable, it will not be in vain as long as people remember him as a person and work to make things better. His life and death WILL have historical significance If Fullertonians succeed. Few if any of ours will, but Kelly’s will.

        WE ARE KELLY!

  4. From the original CNN article:

“That remark was apparently interpreted by the officer as “contempt of cops,” Mardirossian said.”

This guy was arrested and headslammed into a wall because he made a comment interpreted as “contempt of cops.”

Sorry, I’m not a legal specialist, but is that a crime? Contempt of cops?

Cause if that’s a crime, we’re all guilty.

Yes, for a while I held out hope, but at this point I have nothing but contempt for Fullerton cops. I express it every opportunity I can, and I will continue to express it. I invite you all to join me in expressing your contempt of Fullerton’s finest. Each and every one. Let them arrest us all. Phone call, Mardirossian, lawsuit, punitive damages, chh-ching, retire at 50 just like the contemptous cops.

      1. Yeah, it was sort of a rhetorical question.

The point being, I would say a good strategy in Fullerton now is to express MAXIMUM disrespect to every cop you see.

I’m talking dirty looks, stink-eye, snarls, muffled curses, “kill any homeless lately?” queries, muffled coughs that sound like donuts, etc. And of course, film them constantly.

Now this will strke some as immature and others as needlessly confrontational. But actually this is the only way we have of protecting our rights. Citizens of Fullerton and the United States, we have the right to be disrespectful whenever we want to whoever we want! For some reason our local cops don’t know that. They think they’re special. They think we should all politely nod “yes sir” to them. Fuck that. Those days are over for you FPD. Except nothing but maximum disrespect from your citizenry from now on.

        1. You have a point. It’s called civil disobedience and it comes in various forms, the passive sort advocated by Thoreau in his seminal work of the same name, and the more aggressive, yet peaceful and non-violent form of Gandhi.

I’m with you on this one jt, just don’t whine if it gets ugly, and it just might.

          1. Agreed. Starting to like you again Eye…. sorry about going off on your before.

            I won’t whine. I’ll get real litigious though. Chhh-ching!

          1. Heh heh. Civil disobedience really bums you out doesn’t it. So does disrespect towards officers I bet. When I see you and flip you off will you tase me? I know tasing hurts but the lawsuit afterwards will be a most powerful painkiller.

I can only imagine the power-tripping most police officers are constantly experiencing. Combined with their paranoia, it must create a chemical-rich brew of dopamine and adrenaline in the brain. Probably like meth come to think of it. Throw in the steroids and whew… Trouble.

But its nothing personal Meriblow. I just want to do my part as a patriotic American.

        2. Hmmmm………….

Punish everyone for the actions of a few.

You’ll harass them today, then call for help tomorrow.

          I have a better idea.

As a Citizen of the United States of America you have the right to lobby for change.

How about starting a movement in Fullerton for the establishment of a citizen review board to oversea complaints against the police?

Which do you think is better, yelling and screaming about injustice with no consequences forthcoming, or setting up a citizen review board that will be forever looking over their shoulders by ordinary citizens.

It’s harder to do, but I like what’s behind door #2.

  5. Too bad that you can’t touch these murders and their accomplices pensions to pay for the damages. Mardirossian is the best at what he does, 25.8 million in a civil rights violation suit against the LASD, and nobody was murdered.

  6. peanut :

    TAX FREE? huh

  7. EyeNeverSayNo :
No, it’s just cop jargon for being disrespectful.

Like I said before.. they are not citizens or members of the USA/Constitution and we now all see that neither him or many others deserve respect of their badges

  8. FPD (gvrmt) out of control. wow ! Thank you founding fathers for freespeech, protest. I know this is a test . We were sent a messenger with a non-prestigious title (homeless man), to remind us of our civil liberties.

    1. IT IS A TEST, WE NEED THIS TEST TO VERIFY WE ARE WORTHY OF ALL OF THE FREEDOMS BESTOWED ON US BY OUR FOUNDING FATHERS!

    2. Long ago when OC was only developed near the border with LA, La officers chose to live in riverside outside of LA.

The southern part of OC started to develope, so they started to fill in down ther.

Now many cities are being patroled by people that don’t care about the cities, thay are only there to pull a pay check from you.

They move outside the cities to sleep good at night, They are living in very nice neighbor hoods.

Fullerton is an the edge of LA and centered in the southern clifornia megaopolis.

For a transient, self serving career mind person with ambition, Fullerton looks like a great job with a short commute from a nice neighborhhod like Santa Margarita.

People comming to California from God knows where, Imediatly see fullerton as an inner city junk yard, and may view the citizens as beneath them, and justify what they do be looking at you fools as underlings, because they come from an area much nicer than yours.

      It happened to compton.

      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_people_from_Compton,_California

      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compton,_California

  9. I believe if their tactic is silence & delay its not working for them. It would be better if officers to be open and quick to respond to the problem at hand.

  10. You will remove all defamatory information regarding Officer Hampton immediately publish a retraction and offer a public apology…

    Aw Hell we quit!

  11. As the facts come out, we’re going to discover that police department has been systematically ignoring and undermining brutality complaints against its officers for quite a while.

The commenter MeYou is right… this goes all the way up the chain of command.

    1. It always does. Just like in business, the buck stops with management, and usually at the top. Like I’ve been saying, no tears were shed when Sellers left us here in Laguna Beach for ‘a larger force to command’ in Fullerton. And from what I’ve since learned, it appears he took over a PD that already had a bunch of problem cops, this Hampton dude being Exhibit One.

Is it a coincidence that Sellers was in charge when a homeless man was tased to death while being held in our city jail? Ask any cop, when it comes to criminal matters, they don’t believe in coincidences. Right Reality?

The problem for Sellers is that Fullerton is not Laguna Beach; he won’t just be passed on with a nod and a fake thank you. I’m sure it is going to turn out to be his last stop on a less than stellar career journey.

    1. You are soooo wrong on Sellers career and him overall. Why don’t you get some facts before you write

The death you refer to on Laguna was an overdose – nothing more.

Did he hold you accountable for your poor performance? Is that why you have an axe to grind?

  12. “Willful Intent to Ignore” Is lying to yourself. We must accept your silence as guilt. Have you been desensitized from any compassion . I urge any & all officer’s come forward or we will.

  13. Fullerton Police Officer Association President, Barry Coffman must be arrested for being an accomplice.

  14. “Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man’s character, give him power.” Abraham Lincoln

  15. This Department is a fucking joke. They just keep getting deeper and deeper. I’m sure more and more will continue to surface. Within the posts on this blog alone there is a stockpile of incriminating information. And I’m sure there is a lot we’re not even aware of. No doubt Mardirossian has an arsenal of information that will come out in trial And this WILL go to trial.

  16. wow, Quinonez is brave to come forward like this.

so glad to see everyone pulling together like this.

  17. That for cock tan -unfair-enabler- Police Bill of Rights needs to be filed in they file 13 trashbin-its a crime just to have that piece of garbage around- the public has a right to know who is being investigated in a public office, we pay for it. shit

  18. Can you imagine selling your soul and protecting murders, liars, rapists, thieves, perjurers and on and on… just to collect a paycheck…. and cops hate lawyers. Seems more and more that lawyers like Garo and the innocense project are the good guys and cops have without a doubt become the bad guys. All FPD cases should be reopened and investigated by the feds…. this cancer runs deep in this department, wanna bet the DA’s office is full of stage 4 death too.

  19. It is these kinds of officers I rail against. They were thugs long before they maistakenly aquired the badge. Obviously, they lied during the process to become an officer, then they lied again when they took the oath of office to uphold the laws of the land. Although it is not actually repeated in the oath process, it is understood that the officer will ALSO abide by all the laws during his/her lifetime as a member of law enforcement.
This Hampton is a bully, and gets his bravery from the uniform. Take the badge away from him, and he becomes what he is in all actuallity; a pussy.

  20. another anonymous person :
wow, Quinonez is brave to come forward like this.
so glad to see everyone pulling together like this.

He looks scared that’s for sure.. especially after seeing KT killed and as he says.. his father was killed by cops??

I did some small searching for info about his fathers death but could not find info.. Anyone know how/why his father was shot.. NO 🙂 I am not expecting it to be brutality .. seems it may have been a shootout or something he truly did wrong..

I guess his dads story really doesn’t matter unless it was wrongful death also..

  21. While I feel it is necessary to know your rights PRIOR to any law enforcement contact, I also recommend you know the phone numbers to your local PD, and it’s Watch Commander. Have this number on your speed dial IF you have any negative contact. This way, you will not be left to fend for yourself. It is also helpful if you feel the officer stopped you illegally, or if their attitude is way out of line with the situation at hand, or does not match what you would consider professional standards

Good god you can’t be that fucking stupid.

I think I read before that you are a retired cop so you know damn well this is by far the DUMBEST advice to give anyone when they encounter abusive cops.

Hell, even they tell you to fill out a complaint form first.

If you call the watch commander, all he or she is going to do is contact the officer involved and give him/her advice on how to cook up a story about what happened then you’re probably going to get a bunch of other cops harassing you constantly.

      DONT BE STUPID!

DO NOT call the watch commander.

      DO NOT call the dispatcher.

DO call a lawyer (preferably one who specializes in police abuse).

This way, you will not be left to fend for yourself.

HA HA… HA HA HA HA ….HA HA HA …I don’t think even you believe that.

    http://www.fullertonsfuture.org/2011/fullerton-beating-video/
    W: They killed him.
    W2: They Killed him?
    W: Yeah.
    (Multiple people talking at once)
B: Wait wait What hap, what happened?
M: I’m telling you Homeless guy was just chillin’, and then the cops came, two cop cars
came, two cops, they tried getting him but he just ran off from them, ran away from them,
and then they caught him pound his face, pound his face, against the curb, was red, and
    they beat him up
    W2: They can’t do that.
M: And two other more cops came, and tazed him six times
    (W2 mumbles)
M: They beat him up, and then all the cops came and they hog tied him, and he was like,
    “Please God, please dad!”
    B: They killed him?…
    M: Yeah
    W2: There’s a huge puddle of blood right there…
    B: There’s a good pool of blood…
    Uh, what he look like?
M: He had like dirty blonde hair with a beard
    B: Really?
    M: Yeah.
    B: Older? younger?
M: He’s about 30 years old. I know who he is.
    B: Really?
    Tall? Skinny? Short? ??????? Tall?
    M: He’s Tall.
    B: Really?
    M: He’s always around here
B: I wonder which one he is ‘cus I go through here too.
    M: He’s always here
He’s always sitting by those benches.
B: And now they followed him? Like… now they f… Uh… now I see the ambulance
    went (audio distorted)
M: Leave in a rush huh?
B: No, they, they put… they go with siren and alarm and lights. They’re in a hurry. They
are not, they weren’t in a hurry. The police, but the police followed the ambulance
(Woman mumbles in background of man’s words)
M: Yeah but they put him in the ambulance for like 10 minutes, and then they took off.
    B: Really?
    M: Yeah.
B: So, you think he’s dead?
M: Oh, I was watching it, I was standing right there and the cop
    (Multiples talking at once)
M: He wasn’t making any movements after
B: (refers to W) Yeah, you said, you said that too.
    W: He was dying…
    (Man mumbles)
B: What are you guys gonna do about it?
    Since you’re witnesses.
(Man, bus driver and woman mumble at once)
W: There was people yelling at the cops.
M: The cameras, the people with the videos, have more evidence.
    W: One guy recorded it!
M: We were all yelling at them, “Leave him alone stop hitting him! He’s not resisting!”
    B: Wow…
    M: All these cops…
W: They didn’t have to tazer him six times like that, for a long period of time too.
    B: They killed him…
W: I’m out of breath now cuz I had to go back and go get my purse
B: You forgot your purse huh?
    W: Yeah
    B: Oh my goodness.
W: Thank God it (purse) was still there.
B: Yeah I’m gonna go out a different place
W: Sorry for keep you waiting.
    B: That’s ok don’t worry.
W: I had to go get my purse
B: You saw it you saw it
    W: I saw everything.
    W2: I saw when he…
    (Multiples talking)
    W:They were electrocuting him
    W2: then they Slammed him
W3: He hit his face there right in the forehead
    (Multiple talking)
    W: Yeah, the cement.
M: It’s hard to resist…how can you resist when they’re choking him?
W: And then you have so much more cops to beat him up.
    Man2: Yeah.
    (W3 mumbles something)
    W2: Huh?
Man2: The one that came with the tazer
    W: Yeah
Man2: He kneed him first, then they
    (multiple talking)
    W: I guess that’s California for ya.
    (W2 mumbles softly about amendments)
    W: Yeah
    B: That’s horrible…
W: And the guy said, “No, no please no!”
He even yelled out, “I can’t breathe!”
W2: Yeah yeah, “I can’t breathe, I can’t breathe, It’s hard for me to breathe!”
    W: Yeah
B: You guys should go to the news media
W: Yeah, yeah we should, ‘cus we saw the whole thing
    B: Seriously
M: Is there cameras from Octa right here
W: Well I have a lady friend that is a lawyer
    B: Yeah, but… I’m not here. I wasn’t here so I didn’t see It…
M: The number 26 bus, this camera right here, he was, that was facing this way first, then
    he went into there
    B: yeah
M: and then he was facing the whole thing.
M: So it would be on the number 26 bus.

    1. Thanks for transcribing this… last week I tried to clean up the audio a bit and heard it over and over again, and I’ll tell you, it was quite a reminder as to how gnarly this murder was…

        1. Like I said before, there is some serious misogyny and a bit of gay-ness (not in a good way) in continuously referring to a man as a woman just to insult him. Grow the fuck up.

As for the DA filing serious charges against the officers involved in the murder of Kelly Thomas, I do indeed expect the same, not long after the tox and autopsy reports are completed. Perhaps as soon as by the end of the month.

      1. Saddest thing on the transcript;
        “He was dying”

How long has it been since that day?
How many months, days, hours, minutes?
        How long?

        1. It just gets to me every time…a young man savagely beaten and murdered by SIX cops. In the end, it just boggles the mind…thanks anonymous for bringing that back into focus. It is heart wrenching…

  23. Every time Fullerton PD makes a statement nothing but pig shit comes out.

“There was a complaint filed, it was investigated and there was a disposition that was arrived at,” Fullerton police Sgt. Andrew Goodrich said.
Goodrich declined to comment on the outcome, saying it’s a personnel matter.

    http://www.ocregister.com/news/fullerton-317504-quinonez-thomas.html

You to smart or to stupid to say anything. I think you smart, your learning that nothing but shit comes out of your mouth.

  24. How can the DA & the FPD not heed these warnings? They brutally took a mans life . If they keep turning thier head theyre going to get dizzy.

    1. Back in the Old West if we had our way they would be swinging. From the end of a rope. Patience, they keep making thier rope shorter.

  25. Bus Drivers are my heros now. You can hear it in his voice. how just from his riders something evil had occurred.

    1. Bus drivers, taxi drivers, fire fighters, medics, commercial pilots, grocery store clerks and nurses are generally good people.

    2. We have far more respect here in Fullerton for the OCTA bus drivers than we do for the Fullerton Police Department.

    3. The riders witnessed a crime . Theyre speaking as if they should call the police or someone needs help, but who do they call to protect.

  26. Anonymous,

While an attorney would be the best one to call, I would still recommend the Watch Commander be contacted, and respond to your location; every city but Fullerton that is.

    1. I would still recommend the Watch Commander be contacted, and respond to your location; every city but Fullerton that is.

9c1copcar, you are so full of shit.

      Just a reminder for everyone…

If you have ANY adverse contact with ANY police department DO NOT call that department (that will get you nowhere).

If you don’t want to contact a lawyer, at the very least go to their station and fill out a citizens complaint form and look into contacting the Attorney General or FBI (depending on the situation) and you’re local news outlet but whatever you do, DO NOT CALL THE DISPATCHER, DO NOT CALL THE WATCH COMMANDER, DO NOT CALL THE SARGENT, DO NOT CALL THE LIEUTENANT.

If you do it, you’re just giving them a running start to concoct a story or to harass and intimidate you. Remember, most corruption starts from the top.

Police officers operate behind a blue wall, they will not go against each other especially in public. If you’re free to go, leave then file a complaint but if you decide to stick around and contact the watch commander, don’t be complain when 5 officers show up, slam your face into the ground and put a bunch of BS charges on you.

Any trustworthy watch commander would tell you to fill out a citizens complaint form anyway.

    2. i knew i smelled it. the police are not your friends. they WANT to arrest you. some will make shit up and swear to it.

      1. 9c1copcar, you are so full of shit.

    1. 9c1copcar. I believe if you call 911 from a cell you get the CHP. What if you were adamant that a CHP or a Sheriff’s deputy showed up and not the corrupt locals. Would this not put out a call for a non local cop to show up. The CHP has their problems (yeah they lie about speeds etc) but I have had more favorable interactions with CHP (I deal in commercial fleets and the CHP are in my office alot) than local revenue hunters. Sad thing is I am married to an LEO at the state level (no not a prison guard)… and she is reluctant to identify herself when dealing with the locals. Only once did it escalate into a situation because we ride motorcycles. The locals set up a “check point” and I am not a small weak guy. I have a gray beard and an old bike (several actually) they were trying to goad me and she was being the good witness cop. They turned to her when she said they were harassing me (trying to get me to make a move) they asked her for I.D. and she presented her I,D. allright… They asked if she had a weapon and she replied “damn right” … all of a sudden I was a good guy and they had a report that a bike like mine was being sought for something or other….. My wife does not exclusively hang out with cops, and most of our LEO friends do not either. Everyone is not the enemy that does not have a badge and there is more to life that being an asshole. She believes Kelly was murdered and has dealt with the no neck steroid boys through out her career…. gettin to the retirement and we are both out of this state.

        1. Yes. especialy if the car is unmarked. It is actually in the cell phone law. the dispatcher will let you know if it is a legitimate cop or not.

        2. What if you were adamant that a CHP or a Sheriff’s deputy showed up and not the corrupt locals.

The CHP transfers the call to the local agency where you are located. You can can scream, shout, make demands, ask to speak to a supervisor, etc but they’re not going to budge. They are trained to deal with all sorts of calls and they deal with it all day.

Try failing to yield in Fullerton then call 911 from your cellphone claiming that you’re scared because of the Kelly Thomas Beating. You’re probably going to hear “Sir, just pull over so they can talk to you”, “Sir, Sir, Sir I understand but you need to pull over”, “Where are you right now?”, “Sir, you need to pull over”.

Law Enforcement agencies are quite difference from your typical customer service based business like AT&T, sprint, verizon, etc.

You play by their rules not the other way around.

          1. But it is all recorded…. on the 911 call. 911 will contact the local agency and let them know the call was logged in…… and that the driver was asking if it was a legal stop… going to put the cop in a cya mode knowing the driver is on the phone with 911 and the stop is on the log. You can keep 911 on the phone until everything is skosh heck if you get all weird and breathing bad i bet the call will saty recorded.

  27. It sure looks like it’s become us vs. them. Be careful out there tomorrow, don’t give those thugs in blue an excuse. Frankly, they have killed and lied already, and judging from some of the posts here that MAY come from FPD goons, I really believe that some of these monsters would relish the chance to injure, maim and possibly kill protesting citizens. Be very careful…but keep them under the spotlight 🙂

    1. those terrorists are not going to scare me-honk! honk! my video is working well-it will be at my side and a dozen donuts (I hear it calms the savage beast)

      1. Dear Mainjet,
Please pass the word around at the protest tomorrrow that approximately 40-50 officers of the Fullerton Police department have been observedin their parking lot practicing with their billy clubs and riot gear on at least twice in the past three days. This is absolutely not a lie. Please help keep the protesters calm if the officers try and provoke a fight or reaction as they did last week when they began citing supporters for simply honking.

      2. MAIN YOU DO KNOW THAT FPD DOES NOT CONSIST OF THE BRIGHTEST BULBS IN THE PACKAGE OF HUMAN LIGHTBULBS, THEY ARE DIMWITS AND ARE SO STUPID THEY WILL COOK UP FALSE ARRESTS AND CHARGES JUST BECAUSE THEY CAN!

  28. As the truth slowly comes to light it is apparent that each and every member of the FPD is not to be trusted. Any officer that was witness to or had knowledge of citizen abuse and did nothing does not deserve to wear a badge here or anywhere. When I recently spoke to an FPD officer the arrorgance is still there.

THESE ANIMALS ARE GOING TO LEAVE WITH EXCESSIVE PENSION PACKAGES AND LEAVE THE CITIZENS OF FULLERTON WITH ENORMOUS LEGAL AND SETTLEMENTS.

  31. Ted J :
And only two City council persons have called for sick Cheif Sellers to resign?

CHIEF SELLERS IS ESCAPING WITH A HIGH ABUSIVE DISABILITY PACKAGE, FOR HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE AND STRESS. UNREAL LET’S ALL RETIRE EARLY ON DISABILITY WITH EVERY DAY ANXIETY.

    1. If he has high blood pressure and can’t handle stress, he should have never been chief in the first place. What the F#ck is wrong with our system??? So many people sponging off of all our hard work and you wonder why our economy is in the toillette!?
Wake up and smell the cappuccino, this fleecing of our tax dollars has to stop!!!

      1. The two that asked for his resignation are idiots – Whittaker violated HIPPA laws by “creating” the reasons for his medical leave.
All of you that seem to thing this is the fault of Chief Sellers – you couldn’t be more wrong.

I’ve said it before – he was deeply in the process of addressing the problems when this occurred. He immediately launched an investigation and everything was moving forward as it is LEGALLY able to do. He is a sincere believer of Community Oriented Policing. And anyone here who things you can become knowable of an organization and make all necessary changes in two years obviously has no education or organizational management.

He was NOT part of McKinleys “Good Ol Boys Club” ,

The Council decided how they wanted this handled – and when they took heat for not letting the Chief talk about it, the threw him under the bus and tried to come up with a Plan B.

Your cherished Sharon Quirk- Silva is nothing more than a political opportunist. She’s been on the Council for years and just NOW wants to look.
at the homeless problem ? What a load of crap. She’s is so stupid she.
also can’t see that this didn’t happen
        because Kelly was homeless, it’s
        because a couple
(not all) of the cops were OUT
        Someone posted about the Chiefs
“less than stellar career” – you obviously have not done your research.
He has has a great career and is well respected by those that he has worked
with and for. Including community members.

Or perhaps you are one of those good ‘Ol boys he doesn’t tolerate and took some disciplinary action against? Holding people accountable creates some unhappy employees.

I apologize now for any & all typos here, I’m posting from my phone since my computer crashed, and I cannot scroll back & review.

        1. POV wrote: “Someone posted about the Chiefs

That was me and I am a community member in Laguna Beach, Chief Sellers’ previous command. While here, it was on his watch that a homeless man was tased to death in our city jail, resulting in a six figure settlement with the victim’s family. Coincidence? You tell me. It was also on Chief Sellers’ watch that a distraught and erratic acting older married couple were gunned down at the Montage. The man and woman were killed, although they had but one gun between them. The excuse given for killing both was that the dying man could have tossed the gun to his wife!

As for Chief Sellers being an advocate of Community Oriented Policing, it is true that while here he helped implement programs to deal with our homeless problems, the programs themselves were the result of the work of a citizen advisory committee set up in the wake of the death by taser already mentioned. The community was shocked, appalled and embarrassed that such a thing could happen here in what has traditionally been a bastion of tolerance and progressive thought. Thus, no tears were shed when the chief moved on to Fullerton.

Oh, and it’s bullshit that in two years as chief, Sellers didn’t have time to make changes to the way Fullerton deals with its homeless. He had already been through the process here of appointing a specific officer to liaison with the homeless community. The same could have been done in Fullerton on day one.

        2. I would like to know more CITIZEN POV.

From your POV, who is the “Good Ol Boys Club”? How does Hamilton fit in? Hughes? Coffman? etc.

I am willing to reserve judgement on Sellars until the facts are in. But if he wasn’t part of the Good Old Boys Club, WHO IS?

    TAKE THIS ADVICE.

  33. Sweet Jesus the city of Fullerton has whole world watching this clusterfuck unfold. If you plan on protesting tomorrow please for your own safety don’t engage trouble makers, you know the police are capable of sending in ringers to still it up.

      1. They will be wearing hoodies, masks and carrying rocks, glass breakers and spraypaint.

…Don’t let them infiltrate this peaceful gathering and try to turn it into a riot. Point them out and hold them down if need be.

If someone is throwing punches, don’t join in (this what they want), instead separate and isolate them.

        also called called provocateurs .

they try to insight a riot

        be careful

      2. @ Anonymous
A ringer is someone who is/are professionals at what they do. Sending people in who excel at causing trouble during the protest or concert is not far fetched considering recent events being played out in Fullerton…arm yourself with this knowledge.

  34. ANONYMOUS,

Who jerked your chain? I am not coming off beligerent, am I? You seem to have the same reaction and attitude as these officers; always thinking you are right 100% all the time. I do not claim such. So, take a deep breath, and chill.

    1. I am not coming off beligerent, am I?

No, you’re just spewing the typical “you can trust the police” bullshit and I’m calling you out on it.

  35. ANONYMOUS,

I apoligize then. I was hoping so. You have always been good natured and polite. I consider you to be my friend. Take care.

  36. MeYou :

    Why waste time :
I think most of them have figured you and your multiple screen names out by now.

zero multiples except for when i dont use anything and it shows anonymous.. have a nice day

and I have logged in for more than 3 days straight.. so no anons from me

  38. Corrupt,

I hope you and your wife enjoy a long, carefree retirement in whatever state you may settle down in. As for me, I will move to the beach area in a few years. Age and heat do not go together with me anymore.

    1. I feel the same way about the heat, and age,9c car, if i where you and where all the good people of fullerton will be today I would have a foolball helmet with me, Just in case you meet one of fpd thug,s. am with all of yall in sprit, IT SOUNES NOT RIGHT TO SAY. BUT THANK GOD FOR MR. KELLY THOMAS ! AND OTHER,S *

  39. Just watched four officers in patrol cars and a helicopter overhead deal with my belligerent (and probably drunk) neighbor and his idiot wife, both who were snotting off to the Police, and neither of them got their heads smashed in. Oh yeah, I live in Anaheim. See, FPD, it can be done.

    1. Cynthia,

When did you move to Irvine?

I didn’t know the Chmeilwinski’s were so violent.

That was a joke at my good “friend” Dan who won’t let me post on his blog without editorial authority.

      Shitty neighbors suck!

    2. Snotting off to the police required four cops and a helicopter?

That means too much time on their hands. Don’t just be grateful nobody got their heads bashed in. The real question is why they needed a helicopter. Do you have any idea how much that costs a year?

Neither do I but I bet it’s a helluva lot.

  40. Cynthia Ward :

A lot of the smashing of heads happens when there are no witnesses. It happens more than you think.

  41. Dont worry Cynthia, there are crooked cops in Anaheim as well. I’ve seen it first hand. One of Anaheim PD’s Captains cooked up some bogus evidence on a case is was working on.
When he got caught he said, “oh, i’m sorry. I didn’t know”. And that was after he was already warned about it…

  42. Xer :
I’m wondering who is the most dangerous, one-eye, or Hampton? Clearly FPD’s problems don’t all boil down to only one bad egg.
Another nagging question. The FPD stooges here love to say six officers didn’t kill Kelly, only two did!
Then why are SIX on paid admin leave?
    This picture don’t sit straight.

Anyone who watched the video and helped them write their police reports is an accomplice.

      1. I wonder how old Sellers is holding up these days?

Must be rough getting paid (generously, mind you) to do nothing all day.

    1. you know, if you and a buddy go and rob a liquor store, and someone gets killed, you and your buddy get an add charge of murder on top of the robbery. two may have done the beating, but, the other four were there and did nothing to stop it, making them as guilty as the two beaters!

  43. Is it a felony if you do not report a Murder you witnessed?

Especially if you are Peace Officer who witnessed a man murdered by being beaten to death?

Anyone who watched the video witnessed a Murder!

Bus 26 Videotape has a murder scene on it.. as does the city cameras and the dispatcher?? controls the camera or WHO…

    1. there is no crime for not telling rat cops anything, if you saw it and don’tsay you didm how many people would be in prison for not snitching?

    2. if an officer does not report it it is misprison of a felony. a citizen is not so obligated. never talk to a cop. save it for court and expose them for liars.

  44. fedupwithmorons :
there is no crime for not telling rat cops anything, if you saw it and don’tsay you didm how many people would be in prison for not snitching?

Sort of curious to know if a Police Officer is a witness to a murder and doesn’t do anything to

    Apprehend the murderers
    Turn them in
    Report them
    etc.

is it breaking any codes of LEO’s

      1. United States federal law
“Misprision of felony” is still an offense under United States federal law after being codified in 1909 under 18 U.S.C. § 4:

Whoever, having knowledge of the actual commission of a felony cognizable by a court of the United States, conceals and does not as soon as possible make known the same to some judge or other person in civil or military authority under the United States, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both.

This offense, however, requires active concealment of a known felony rather than merely failing to report it.[7]

ATLANTA — A northeast Atlanta woman, who is physically disabled, said she was roughed up by an Atlanta police officer while being falsely arrested.

Shequita Walker, 40, said she’s been sitting in the same lawn chair outside her apartment complex at Boulevard and Rankin Street for years. She said she likes to sit there and wait for the ice cream truck.

Walker suffers from scleroderma which limits her range of motion and causes pain in her joints.

In April, Walker said an Atlanta police officer approached her and told her to move.

“He came right here and said we had to move, and I said ‘What reason do he have to move?’ ” Walker said.

She said the officer told her, “Because I said so.”

Walker claims she stood and told the officer she was going to call his supervisor.

“That’s when he grabbed me. My ice cream fell and my phone fell,” she said.

Walker said that’s when the officer put her on the ground.

Walker said she has photos of the incident.

Walker said the officer sprained her shoulder in the process, and she had to be taken to Grady Memorial Hospital.

    Findings from Citizen Review Board
    ——————————————————————————–

After she was released, Walker said she was taken to jail on a charge of disorderly conduct.

A prosecutor later dismissed the charge.

Walker filed a complaint with the Citizens Review Board. The board ruled that the officer made a false arrest and recommended a three-day suspension.

So far, no action has been taken.

Records showed this is not the first complaint against the officer.

“We’ve gathered hundreds of signatures from people in this community who do not want this officer on the street,” attorney Tiffany Roberts said.

The Citizens Review Board also found that in six months, 27 of the 38 arrests the officer made were for disorderly conduct, a charge that many times can cause controversy.

Channel 2’s Amanda Cook contacted the Atlanta Police Department for a response. APD said because there is still an open internal investigation into the officer, it could not comment.Copyright 2011 by WSBTV.com. All rights reserved. One Glendale officer involved in alleged joyride to Vegas reinstated, 2 others lose their jobs

    September 15, 2011 | 10:53 a.m.
Civil Service Commissioners on Wednesday voted to reinstate one of three Glendale police officers who were fired for allegedly taking a patrol car on a joyride to Las Vegas.

Commissioners voted 4 to 1 to reinstate Patrick Hamblin as a Glendale police officer, city spokesman Tom Lorenz said. He must still absorb a 90-day work suspension without pay, Lorenz added.

    Related
Joyriding officers no longer on city payroll
“We support the findings of the Civil Service Commission,” Lorenz said. “It’s their job to make these determinations…It’s obvious in their findings; they do uphold very strong standards for employees in the city of Glendale.”

Hamblin, who stopped working on April 1, will also be reduced from a Step 6 police classification to Step 3 officer, Lorenz said. Step 1 is reserved for probationary officer while the highest Step 6 is for top performers.

Commissioners voted 3 to 2 to uphold decisions made to drop two other officers — Fernando Salmeron and Mike Ullerich — from the department, Lorenz said.

Salmeron and Ullerich were no longer working for the department as of March 29.

Sources who declined to be named due to the sensitivity of the investigation have confirmed that the officers took the patrol car to Vegas, but officials have refused to discuss the case.

The commission is set to officially issue its findings on Oct. 12.

  48. You all stay safe and don’t lose focus. Let’s keep the fpd accountable. My sources told me there will plenty of plain clothes officers in the crowd.

      1. Yes.

A crowd of 1,000 means no less than 500 cameras should be rolling at all times. Perhaps even 100 of those could livestream to the web…simple enough to do these days.

  49. Wow. I find this completely mind boggling. I don’t want to believe that this sort of thing goes on and yet it obviously does. To have this level of corruption takes a lot of cooperation and collusion by leadership and the rank and file. I would be afraid to live in that town. Seriously. I saw the pictures of the police practicing in their riot gear. Very scary. A reasonably intelligent police force would at least know that at this time in particular, when all eyes are upon them, would be the time to be very careful and to be practicing peaceful ways of managing a concert for the homeless–notice I did not even say a demonstration, it’s a concert. The fact that they still don’t get it is what makes it so scary. I can’t imagine living in a town where there is an Us Against Them mentality and the “Us” is the police force and city government and the “Them” is the citizens. Please be careful but don’t give up.

  50. merijoe :
Supposedly a big media presence tomorrow, comeon FPD-make fools of yourselves tomorow, please.

THEY EXECUTED A MAN IN FULL CLEAR VIEW OF THE WORLD AND YOU THINK THEY CARE ABOUT CAMERAS THIS AFTERNOON.

  51. Business owner :
You all stay safe and don’t lose focus. Let’s keep the fpd accountable. My sources told me there will plenty of plain clothes officers in the crowd.

THEY ARE THERE SCATTERED IN THE CROWD TO STIR UP THE PEOPLE. THEY NEED A RIOT TO JUSTIFY THE BEATINGS THAT WILL BE DOLED OUT TODAY. THERE AFTER NO MORE PUBLIC GATHERINGS IN FULLERTON AND A CURFEW. ROADBLOCKS AND TARGETED STREET SEARCHES AND CONFISCATING OF CELL PHONES AND CAMERAS.

    1. Cmon Ralphie. The paranoia is getting a bit much.

They are fighting a war of public opinion. They want to portray the protestors as violent, not themselves as violent. If they start bashing heads it’s just another nail in their coffin. They just want to put on a show for the cameras and the typical “law and order” OC Register reader.

      1. I don’t think it’s paranoid to think they might pull something like this. They have already worked overtime to paint protestors as having a “mob mentality” and lying to the news media that protestors have called in death threats.

Agent provocateurs have been used by law enforcement agencies worldwide. These agencies have even publicly admitted to doing so. So why is is paranoid to worry that this particular department, with a history of participating in and/or covering up and/or condoning theft, drunk driving, molestation, brutality, and perjury amongst their ranks, might use agent provocateurs too?

        1. I mean it’s not like they say “well, we murder people and perjure ourselves in court, but trying to turn a protest into a riot…that’s where I draw the line, mister.”

    2. Ralphy, put the crack pipe down. and BTW-none of that happened nor would it have happened – not from any of us-we arent into starting mess-just peaceful protest

  52. Hey Mob… What happened to all the riots? Didn’t see or hear of one thing out of the ordinary.

    Not one riot…

    Not one murder…

    Not one beating…

Not one thing that you can use against the police as you were hoping to do.

    1. Ah tol’ them boys they bes’ be on their bes’ behavyoor.

Ah’m a fightin’ fer mah politi-cal life. Later they kin a go back to bashin’ in heads ‘n faces. We gotta get mean!

    2. WTF are you talking about?

the FPD or rather Reno 911 were the ones gearing up for trouble with bad costumes as seen in the photos of blog posting WHAT ARE THEY EXPECTING

      idiot

  53. From yesterday’s Washington Post:

Justice Department Boosts Activity to Police the Police

“In recent months, the Justice Department has begun inquiries into major city police departments such as Portland, Ore., where officers shot several people who had mental health issues, and Seattle, where police were accused of gunning down a homeless Native American woodcarver. The department issued a scathing report earlier this month accusing Puerto Rico police of a ‘staggering level of crime and corruption.’’’

    Here’s the link:

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/justice-department-boosts-activity-to-police-the-police/2011/09/14/gIQA1JrQaK_story.html

The current Justice Department is clearly corrupt at several levels (they always are), but they still have a job to do. Evidently the nationwide police brutality epidemic has reached a point that transcends everyday political stinkage.

Kelly should be a part of this Justice Department investigation. His murder is as clear-cut as they come, and it deserves Federal attention.

    1. Wow, SDLocal. Hadn’t seen this. This is HUGE news and extremely relevant.

      Look at these two quotes:
“The Obama administration also has amped up criminal enforcement. The Civil Rights Division last year filed a record number of criminal cases, 52, against mostly law enforcement officers for allegedly violating constitutional or legal rights “under color of law.’’

“In the civil probes, lawyers in the division’s Special Litigation Section track potential cases through media reports and by consulting with officers, advocacy groups and citizens.”

This is what I’ve been saying we need to do. Get a formal complaint registered with the DOJ Civil Rights Division Special Litigation Section. If there is a pattern of wrongdoing by FPD – and in light of the Martinez and Quinonez cases along with Mam and Thomas, who could deny that there is? – this is the Federal investigatory body that has the authority and track record to do something about it. If it helps, I know somebody who knows somebody who works in that division.

What would it take to get a complaint written up and sent to them? I wonder if this is something Mr. Mardirossian might want to help work on?
