Is Tom Daly Even Running For Supervisor?
We keep hearing that Tom Daly is running for OC 4th District Supervisor. For a political campaign it sure is quiet. Of course the primary election is still a long way off, but it seems that for a putative favorite he sure has been awful quiet about the whole thing. No filing of papers and no fundraising, either. The latter is no doubt being done behind the screen of his County Clerk job and will be transferred when and if. And he’s gotten some endorsements, too, but no place to post them.
The guy doesn’t even have a website for chrissakes, and you’d think he could do that for next to nothing. We’ve been looking and can’t find anything on the Internet. Hello, Tom! Tom? Tom, where are you?
For Daly The Big Decision has been complicated by Chris Norby’s unwillingness to endorse him plus the entry into the fray of two solid potential Anaheim candidates, Harry Sidhu and Lorri Galloway, who would almost certainly take a huge whack out of whatever Anaheim support he would otherwise get.
And let’s not forget that Tom currently brings down a sweet guvment salary well in excess of $100k for doing virtually nothing. The County Clerk’s department is run by the staff, not him. Tom’s biggest decision was to open a north county branch just about the same time he declared his intention to run for Supe.
I think I know where all this is heading, what are the “Friends” planning for Daly if he does run?
I know some people that works for Tom Daly at the clerk recorder office. They told me the morale is horrible. They wish Tom Daly would run for 4th district supervisor so he can leave.
Also they told me that he doesn’t even give a damm about his staff. He let’s his idiot assistant Renee Ramirez run the operation and she is terrible with people.
Tom Daly is a wasted of taxpayers money!!!!
i WSA TRYING TO FIND THAT NEW OFFICE IN DOWNTOWN fULLERTON AND KEPT LOOKING AND DRIVING UP AND DOWN HARBOR. i WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS A SIGN CLEARLY VISIBLE. FINALLY SOMEONE POINTED OUT THE PLACE AND I NOTICED THE SIGN; ON THE TOP OF THE CANVAS AWNING THAT YOU CAN ONLY SEE IF YOUR DRIVING A SEMI-TRUCK. IF DALY WANTS OR DESERVES CREDIT FOR OPENING THAT OFFICE, HE NEEDS TO ADMIT THAT THE SIGNAGE IS A COMPLETE F-UP! DID THE DESIGN & REVIEW BOARD APPROVE THAT OR WAS IT DESIGNED BY A GIRAFFE?
County Supervisor? Two things come to mind for anyone who has met Tom. 1) Nice guy; 2) Incompetent
This guy could screw up a free lunch. I am urging the Friends to follow this carefully. It may be time to print some signs for Tom’s neighborhood letting voters know what a career hack this guy is.
Maybe we can create a new county office for him? Let’s say perhaps “Orange County Useless Piece of Crap?”

True enough. But between Harry and Lorri they could do him real damage. Harry has already got the endorsements of a some of Anaheim’s old guard – endorsements Daly was probably counting on.
Maybe it doesn’t matter. As it stands now there’s no chance of an outright victor in a primary.
You Fullerton guys sure love to diss Anaheim.
I’ll stack Daly up against some of YOUR ex-mayors anytime—Bankhead, Jones, Clesceri, Sa…..
There’s really no “diss” to Anaheim intended here. And you’re right – that list of former Fullerton mayors is like a hall of shame. Do searches on those names in our archives and you’ll see that we agree with you!
I’m just an a curious observer in all this, but to Old Colonist i would have to respond that Tom Daly is no Mimi Walters. He isnt a strong leader clearly doesnt have the party behind him. And i have to agree with the orginal post that it sure doesnt look like he is serious about running for Supervisor.

Hint, hint… Daly was Mayor of Anaheim. No one up here had even heard of Walters, yet Sidhu still did poorly in his own city.
Besides, he & Galloway don’t even live in the district.
Tom may not have a website yet, but at least he has a house in the district!

Tom Daly doesn’t even show up to work and when he does he hides in the back. Tom Daly please do us all a favor and quit. The morale in our office is terrible and you have the worst manager (Renee Ramirez) who is a liar and who likes to imtimidate us staff!!
At the very least he should be running in his own district.
